  15. PROG-PUBS is a mailing list for people interested in
  16. progressive and/or alternative publications and other media.
  17. This is a canned message describing the list.

  19. PROG-PUBS was originally created to facilitate and encourage
  20. communication among people interested in and active with the
  21. "alternative student press" movement.  However, the list's
  22. scope is now broader than this; we welcome and encourage
  23. participation from people involved in all kinds of small-scale,
  24. independent, progressive and/or alternative media, including
  25. newspapers, newsletters, and radio and video shows, whether
  26. campus-based or not.  Our hope is that PROG-PUBS will help
  27. further the exchange of ideas, hints, and even articles among
  28. the participants and the growing network of alternative media
  29. outlets.
