  15. Dear Colleague,
  16. We have like to invite you to attend a conference on the History and
  17. Philosophy of science.  The conference will take place in La Habana,
  18. Cuba form the 4th to the 14th of January, 1993.  The conference is
  19. sponsored by the Departments of Philosophy, Sciology and History at
  20. the University of La Habana.
  21. The U.S. delegation will be of about 35 people.
  22. There will be four panels:
  23. a. Science, the environment, and appropriate technology.
  24. b. Capitalism, technology, and the First/Third world relations.
  25. c. Philosophy and politics of science.
  26. d. Contemporary issues in philosophy and history of science.
  27. we expect that the cost will be $1100, for airfare between Miami and
  28. La Habana, lodging, a basic meal plan, programming, and trasportation
  29. in Cuba.  This does not include the cost of airfare from your home to
  30. Miami.
  31. The conference will constitute "professional reserach" for those within
  32. the fields or in related fields.  This is one of the few exception to the
  33. U.S. restriction on travel to CUBA.
