- My packet station is not on line all the time. I only have one radio and
- I use it at home, school and while I travel. I only use the packet as
- needed. A person can leave a packet station on all the time if one so
- chooses. However, there is no need to do so as your local node is
- usually affiliated with a Packet BBS. You use it essentially the same
- way as you do these land line BBSs. They are a little more versitile in
- that you can do satalite work with them. They are slower in getting
- messages from here to there over long distances such as across the
- country or around the world ( as compared with K12). But the price is
- right. There is no cost for connects or phone line time.
