- The machine I am posting from is a DEC 5500 running Ultrix 4.2 (Rev.
- 96) and I have the following line in my .emacs file.
-
- (setq display-time)
-
- In the good old days time was displayed in my buffer line. The people
- here upgraded to version 18.58.1 and when I edit a file, the date
- flashes on for a second and then vanishes. M-x display-time has no
- effect either. The system people have no idea why this is happening.
-
- I use the same .emacs file on a Sparcstation running some version of
- SunOS and the date is displayed with no problem.
-
- Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so what di you do
- about it?
-
- Thanks
-
- George
