  35. it's true. if you seemed concerned, Sun recommended OLIT.
  36. personally, i'd rather not do UI programming but i have
  37. learned to use XView (reasonable task for any programmer
  38. to learn menus and panels) because i am doing graphics.
  39. it's too bad. i think Sun has done OK for me. i've built
  40. around a dozen panels using XView and Sun freezing XView
  41. is fine as long as they ship it with their window system.
  42. i'd guess from the announcement that XView will be shipped
  43. with their window system for at least 3 years and probably
  44. longer. my UI consists of graphics windows and panels
  45. and doesnt make any pretense of going further than that.
  46. i think XView is great for such applications.
