- Maybe this is the time for me to dump OPEN LOOK and go Motif with its
- poor unergonomic interface and dismal toolkit. B^)
-
- Check out Tk, which is free, and isn't based on the X Toolkit, so it's
- not hopelessly outdated and crippled like OLIT, MoOLIT, and Motif.
- It's not totally Motif compliant either, in ways that make it nicer
- (like "locator highlighting", the way the control under the cursor
- highlights to show it's active, before you've press the button).
- And it's *extensible* in TCL, and designed so it's easy to add
- new componants.
-
- I hope you are right. But I thought they are just going to enhance
- (read: dabble) OLIT.
-
- How long can you hope Sun will support you using the DOE toolkit
- and/or OLIT?
-
- There's no such thing as the DOE toolkit. DOE is pure marketing hype.
- (Just say the word out loud and you'll realize why the managers are so
- gung ho on it, and the engineers are so sick of it.) Stay away from
- DOE, since it doesn't exist (so it's pretty easy to stay away from ;-),
- and SunSoft will probably be out of business before it's delivered, at
- the rate they're going.
