- I am running into trouble trying to run cm on a Sun server, SunOS 4.1.2, OW3
- and display to a 386 running Intel SYSVR4.0.3 with an oldish version of
- X11R3 and olwm. Is it theoretically possible? (does it require NeWs?)
-
- The error I get is unable to access font -b&h-lucida-sans(etc.), which I
- know is the default OW font. I have tried starting cm on the Sun with -font
- fixed, -font '-adobe(etc)' and it can't find those either. xlsfonts on the
- Sun does not show b&h lucida, so I am unclear where cm running on the Sun
- finds it. I can run all sorts of source-based X stuff on the Sun, as well
- as some commercial stuff (eg xv and IslandWrite), so things are not
- completely hosed. Suggestions?
-
- I would also like to know if there is any way without user intervention to
- tell which host someone is logging in from to set the DISPLAY environment
- variable. I have hit on the idea of parsing the output of the 'who am i'
- command with sed. Any easier or better ideas?
