  11. I think we are witnessing the first virus that doesn't require any
  12. special code to operate.  Just look at the sci.crypt forum.  After
  13. Dorothy Denning's talk at the last NCSC conference about registering
  14. crypto keys with the goverment, there has been a tremendous response
  15. (mostly angry) on sci.crypt; the other day I checked the forum and
  16. there were 450 new postings since a day or two previous.  Now postings
  17. are starting to be cross posted to the risks and privacy forums.

  19. This is sort of like the IBM XMAS virus, but it doesn't take any code.
  20. All you have to do is post a highly controversial item on a well-read
  21. forum, and wait for the responses to bring the network to its knees.
