  11. I had an infection of the stoned virus and my hard disk started giving
  12. the 1701 error on bootup. I changed out the hard disk and controller
  13. with a new, low-level formatted drive/controller. I scanned all
  14. software for viruses and eliminated any that showed up. When the new
  15. disk was loaded with the old files, I scanned it and found no viruses.

  17. Now the new disk is giving me 1701's intermittently. Do I have a
  18. hardware problem or a virus?
