- I had an infection of the stoned virus and my hard disk started giving
- the 1701 error on bootup. I changed out the hard disk and controller
- with a new, low-level formatted drive/controller. I scanned all
- software for viruses and eliminated any that showed up. When the new
- disk was loaded with the old files, I scanned it and found no viruses.
-
- Now the new disk is giving me 1701's intermittently. Do I have a
- hardware problem or a virus?
-
- Thanks, Jeff
