- Well, yes and no. Yes, I've been able to get files from anomaly, but only
- using uucp over the phone (and paying big $$$ for long distance charges).
- I have not been able to use ftp or the snarf mailserver. With ftp I am
- just unable to get a connect, for various reasons. Sometimes it's too
- busy, but sometimes, ie: 3:00am, I doubt that to be the case. I have
- (attempted) to discuss this with the site's sysadmin (Mike Deignan) but to
- no avail. To date, I have not heard of single person who has been able to
- use ftp to anomaly. (successfully that is, I have been able to get a
- connect during odd hours, ie: 4am, but it's still too slow to be used, like
- under 1k per min). The snarf mailserver, at least from here (upstate NY)
- gets intercepted by another site in the links and returned with a note that
- says, in effect, "we're not paying for you to get at anomalys archives".

- This has been a discussion in the past, and I still intend to pursue it
- (time allowing). Anomaly has an archive with wonderful things to offer the
- SCO community, but it's just plain not accessible enough. The hosts of
- anomaly have been very gracious in even having a publicly accessible
- archive at all, so I certainly don't blame them for this. Personally, I
- would think that SCO itself would be jumping on this opportunity to support
- it's reseller community. But that not being the case, I am still searching
- for a site that can handle ftp direct and email access to this wonderful
- treasure chest of SCO software. Anyone willing to help?
