  14. I need some advise on compiling codes under  ALPHA M500.
  15.  
  16. First of ALL  what is OSF/1 T1.2-1  based on?  Is this
  17. a SYSV4  MUCH  BSD POSIX ULTRIX?  !combination!
  18.  
  19. Compiling is no problem,  executing is the problem.
  20.  
  21. to be more specific:  I have tried to compile
  22. tcsh 6.00 or 6.01 or 6.02 on Alpha but the
  23. binary when run gives me error when I use pipes 
  24. i.e.  ls -CF | more
  25.  
  26. this is the error I get:

  28.    tcsh: setpgid error (Not owner).
  29.        or
  30.    tcsh: setpgid error
  31.  
  32.  
  33. X11R5 was compiled with no problem with some tweaking
  34. but I have not run it yet so I would not know the result yet!

  36. I compiled  ghostview and gs to view OSF documents
  37. for tuning  OSF but I got billions of errors like:

  42. So if some OSF,ALPHA  guys/gals can give me a call or email me some hints
  43. on how to play with this new beast, I would be appreciated!
