- For historical reasons and to keep some people happy I want to run
- calendar every night. Since we use automounter it has to mount everybody it
- wants to check and I think this is what is causing the problems.
- I decided to run it on one machine only(so as not to get multiple copies)
- and on a machine that everyone had access to, so as automount would recognise
- them as valid users(from catpw)(we use Yellow Pages).
- It has problems when run from this single machine as it gives the error
-
- gnode: table is full
-
- When I think about it the automounter would have to make about 400 mounts,
- which is a lot! So my questions
-
- 1. Is it worth running calendar(as root) from cron with automount and YP?
- 2. If not, what's best to replace it? (at?)
- 3. If the kernel needs tuning but could someone tell me what needs changed?
-
- Thanks in advance,
-
