  14. Here's the situation. I'm attempting to upgrade a 4.2a DS5000/120 with
  15. a CDC Wren V. chpt -q sez:

  29. I'm attempting to do the upgrade using RIS. The first time through,
  30. everything went fine until it came to csh, at which point it barfed
  31. because I was running it (yeah, stupid). So, I sez, lets try again.

  33. Now, however, ``fitset'' keeps telling me I don't have enough space in
  34. the root partition to load up the new software. But, I had ~8.5Mb,
  35. which was enough the first time around. It appears that 'fitset'
  36. doesn't account for the fact that it's going to get back *lots* of
  37. space by over-writing existing binaries.

  39. Furthermore, I can't find any way of having 'fitset' give me an
  40. intelligible answer about *how much more* free space I need.

  42. Since 'fitset' won't let me get any further in the 'setld' procedure,
  43. I thought I'd ask for ideas. Any clues?

  46. I can't really reduce / any more w/o removing important things. I
  47. setld -d'd all the junk I really don't use (like kerberos, etc) -- as
  48. a consequence, I can't 'rsh' into my machine anymore (rlogin works
  49. fine), and I'm learly of uninstalling anything else to get this to
  50. work.
