- I have problems with XFree 86 on ISC 3.0 and an et4000 vga card.
- The previous version 2.0.2 (not yet named XFree) works fine.
- When I use the new version (installed from scratch with X11 pl 17) by
- giving the new server (in the mit-tree, XFree is not yet installed) in
- /usr/X386/.../xdm/Xservers
- the VT-switching no longer works. When switching away from the X
- server's VT, the monitor no longer synchronises and the previous screen
- contents is lost. I can still give commands blindly. When switching back to
- the X server's VT, the monitor is still out of sync and the main window
- appears several times (wildly oscillating) on the screen.
- When I comment out the clock definitions, the server still correctly
- recognizes an et4000 based vga card, but now recognises 16 clocks
- instead of the correct (I suppose) 8 clocks that are recognized by the
- old server.
-
- Is this because XFree is not installed (I simply use the previous
- installation and just test the X-server still in the mit source tree) or
- is there another configuration error or an error in XFree?
