- Has anybody gotten SAS 1.25 to work under Esix 4.0.4?
-
- I tried it today as the driver for my COM1 and COM2 ports. It
- compiled and installed without a hitch. I left the old "asy" driver
- installed, but disabled it in the "sdevice.d/asy" file.
-
- When I rebooted with the new system, the SAS signon message printed out,
- looking exactly like I thought it should. Then the system panicked with
- a complaint that it couldn't mount the root filesystem. I tried it once
- again just to be sure, but it did exactly the same thing again.
-
- When I removed SAS and re-enabled "asy" everything worked again.
-
- One thing I should mention is that my COM1/2 board is a strange clone
- with a big VLSI chip instead of the usual 16[45]50 chips. However,
- SAS's signon message indicated that it did recognize the devices as
- 16450s, which is what I would expect. And "asy" drives the chip OK (OK
- for "asy", anyway).
-
- Any ideas?
