  11.     Just wanted to tell you all about an excellent book on shell
  12. programming that I came across recently. The title is "UNIX Applications
  13. Programming" (Mastering the Shell) by Ray Swartz. The book takes a very
  14. indepth look at the various tools eg. sed, awk, sort, cut etc...
  15. It also comes with very realistic examples and also gives an explanation
  16. of most of the common diagnostic messages that a user may come across.
  17. It caters for both the beginner and the experienced user. Just one point
  18. to note is that it uses the Bourne shell as an example. Thats it.
