- Hi,
- Just wanted to tell you all about an excellent book on shell
- programming that I came across recently. The title is "UNIX Applications
- Programming" (Mastering the Shell) by Ray Swartz. The book takes a very
- indepth look at the various tools eg. sed, awk, sort, cut etc...
- It also comes with very realistic examples and also gives an explanation
- of most of the common diagnostic messages that a user may come across.
- It caters for both the beginner and the experienced user. Just one point
- to note is that it uses the Bourne shell as an example. Thats it.
