-
- That's a bad thing for UNIX. So that makes 2-1 for UNIX.

- Explain that to a user, he couldn't care less.

-
- X is not a user interface. X is a windowing system. Besides several different
- different window managers (like twm, gwm, olwm, mwm, etc.), only Motif and
- OPEN LOOK deserve the name user interface.

-
- No, I've used SCO ODT on a fast 6M machine and the only thing it did was
- swapping like hell.

- You can't run Linux, X and a GUI in 2M RAM. Compare apples to apples.

-
- I didn't too... :-) But dumb users don't FTP or download from a BBS, they buy
- their software in stores because it gives them a warm cozy feeling that they
- spend a lot of bucks on software.
-
- >Or an MS-DOS executable into OS/2 2.0?
-
- That's one of the purposes of OS/2: DOS compatibility. There are people who
- run OS/2 as a multi-tasker to multitask their DOS BBS program for instance.
- Or as a DOS developing system so they don't have to quit Turbo Pascal to test
- a large program. You can laugh, but these kind of people really exist.
