  14. Is anyone interested in working with me to create a logical virtual disk
  15. to make all or part of the disks in local area network look like one
  16. disk drive (one huge disk drive).

  18. I have already started some work on this project and have done some
  19. feasability.

  21. I may work with the University of Mn or the University of St Thomas but
  22. nothing is definite.

  24. I don't want to disclose all the details  but here are some

  26. The Disk Drive would keep reduntant information on different physical
  27. disk drives so if a node in the network went down the File System on
  28. the logical disk drive would automatically reform itself over the
  29. rest of the existing disk drives.

  31. The logical disk would work across different versions of UNIX using
  32. NFS and TCP/IP to ensure compatibility.

  34. The only technical feat to be done besides a massive amount of work
  35. to make this thing commercially viable is to build a prototype to
  36. get some idea of access speeds.
