- Is anyone interested in working with me to create a logical virtual disk
- to make all or part of the disks in local area network look like one
- disk drive (one huge disk drive).
-
- I have already started some work on this project and have done some
- feasability.
-
- I may work with the University of Mn or the University of St Thomas but
- nothing is definite.
-
- I don't want to disclose all the details but here are some
-
- The Disk Drive would keep reduntant information on different physical
- disk drives so if a node in the network went down the File System on
- the logical disk drive would automatically reform itself over the
- rest of the existing disk drives.
-
- The logical disk would work across different versions of UNIX using
- NFS and TCP/IP to ensure compatibility.
-
- The only technical feat to be done besides a massive amount of work
- to make this thing commercially viable is to build a prototype to
- get some idea of access speeds.
-
- Please excuse my spelling and grammer I'm not checking it sorry!
-
- If interested academically or commercially please contact
