  13. I've decided to give 386BSD 0.1 a try, but I can't get the Tiny 386BSD
  14. floppy to boot on my system.  I downloaded dist.fs from agate.berkeley.edu,
  15. did a rawrite to a 3.5" floppy, and cold booted, but the A drive light just
  16. glows and nothing ever happens.  No disk activity, as far as I can tell.

  18. I tried this with several different diskettes, assuming that maybe the first
  19. disk was bad, but this was to no avail.

  21. I also downloaded dist.fs from the unofficial/newbootables/cgd directory,
  22. which is supposed to be a patched bootable distribution, but I still have
  23. the same problems.

  27.     Gateway 4DX2-66V (Micronics VL-Bus motherboard)
  28.     8MB
  29.     ATI Ultra Pro LB with memory aperture starting at 10MB
  30.     340MB Quantum IDE hard drive

  32. I've also tried slowing the system down to 8MHz during boot and have 
  33. disabled the BIOS Shadowing.  No luck.  Actually, now that I think about it,
  34. I didn't slow the system down and try to boot the patched (cgd) dist.fs,
  35. but somehow I don't have much faith that this would solve the problem.

  37. Has anyone been able to get 386BSD 0.1 running on a similar system?

  39. BTW, Linux 0.98 pl1 runs fine on this system....
