- For my money, you can't beat DAT. Fast (esp. with compression drives),
- cheap and reliable. You can get top notch units for about $1300-$1600
- but when you figure that a single 90m tape will hold around 5-8GB of data
- (and the tape costs maybe $25) then you see the advantage.

- I used the Teac 150's for a while and have nothing but favorable comments
- about them. For smaller systems, the 150 or 600 (which I haven't used)
- seem quite good.

- The problem with compatibility is that systems use different blocking
- factors when reading/writing tapes so just because you can hook up
- your Exabyte to you Mac, a Sun and an HP doesn't mean that you'll be
- able to read the tapes...
