- If you can do it you might try:
-
- 1) Fetching the base MIT X11R5 distribution+ 17 patches, apply
- the first 12(?).
- 2) Fetch the monochrome server patches I put on amiga.physik.unizh.ch
- a while back and apply them.
- 3) Apply the rest of the MIT patches.
- 4) Make the monochrome server and make sure it works correctly.
- 5) Reinitegrate Keith's X11R5 color server into this code.
-
- The reason I suggest this is that the code on the tape has mixed
- patchlevels all over the place and this might be causing problems,
- i.e. it caused me quite a bit of grief with xterm and some other
- stuff. Also, the X11R5 patch level 17 code has quite a bit of
- generic server changes since the path level (6?) - (9?) code
- that is on the tape. Some of the changes between pl6 and pl17
- might help with your server and library problems.
-
- By the way, all SVR4 X11R5 server's I've seen whine about the
- operation not being suypported, it is a side effect of the
- socket emulation code on X11R5 and not AmigaUNIX's fault.
-
- Good luck!
