- Lots of our undergraduates are seeing a problem at login time which needs
- to be fixed. They login, with shell /bin/csh, and get an error like
- "setgid failed, therefore no job control"; it seems to have something to do
- with device protection on the login device (we are using xdm). The
- problem is intermittent.
-
- Does anyone know what causes it? Does anyone know how to avoid the problem?
- I've never seen anything like this before.
-
- Thanks...
