  11. Lots of our undergraduates are seeing a problem at login time which needs
  12. to be fixed.  They login, with shell /bin/csh, and get an error like
  13. "setgid failed, therefore no job control"; it seems to have something to do
  14. with device protection on the login device (we are using xdm).  The
  15. problem is intermittent.

  17. Does anyone know what causes it?  Does anyone know how to avoid the problem?
  18. I've never seen anything like this before.
