  12. I have what I believe to be the final word on the Greeting window.  But
  13. before I pass it along I'd like to clear up a couple of things.  The window
  14. I am interested in is the one with the IBM copyright and registration
  15. information.  This window usually displays in the lower right corner or can
  16. be invoked via ^A (control A) when your desktop is the active window.  I long
  17. ago figured out how to eliminate the Display PostScript copyright window.

  19. So that said, I finally heard from a couple of people at IBM.  One suggested
  20. that we upgrade to a 580 server which would cause the window to come and go
  21. much more rapidly.  But another response from white-shirt set stated that the
  22. Greeting window is displayed by contract and cannot be eliminated.  It is
  23. odd that you can specify an alternative message and specify a time of 1
  24. which prevents the message from appearing but not the window.  Some contract.

  26. Anyway, I'm going to use this last premise as an excuse to terminate my
  27. search.  There have got to be more important things to pursue.  B-))  Thanks
