  12. I want to implement a checkpointing procedure for programs so that I can
  13. recover from system crashes by rolling back to my last checkpoint and
  14. continuing on with my calculations.  Specifically, I would like to checkpoint
  15. the process/program's core image to disk periodically and to be able to
  16. restart from that core image on disk when necessary.  Has anyone implemented
  17. something like this for the RS6000 AIX?  (e.g. Something like the saveimage.c
  18. routines used by the BSD CAD tools on Sun's and Vaxen.)
