- Junk the IBM furnished sendmail (or at least its configuration file)
- it can't handle anything which does not look like how IBM understands
- mail (and except USER at NODE I don't ask much more anymore to IBM).
- Just look at how many messages get bounced from some misconfigured systems
- in the austin.ibm.com subdomain !

- I'd suggest you to install the Sendmail-IDA package, it's extended NIU
- configuration files kit will be adequate to your needs.
