- The answer of Barbara Beeton explains what was wrong but unfortunately does
- not give the solution if someone really needs to use πleft on one line and
- πright on the next. Therefore I supply the missing point.

- TeX says that πleft and πright must be matched but the type of the delimiter
- may be different. You therefore can use a dot as a delimiter which produces
- nothing. The equation may look as:

- $$ πleft( some stuff πright. ππ
- πleft. other stuff πright) $$

- If the height of "some stuff" is not the same as the height of "other stuff",
- you will get delimiters of different size. To equalize the sizes you have to
- insert an empty box of an appropriate height.

- I had the same problem some time ago with LaTeX and proved that this solution
- works.
