  14. I have a document that is composed of several 1-3 page sections, each section
  15. of which is assigned a unique, non-consecutive number (e.g. TN-RGT-03 or
  16. UT-FT-01). Part of each section consists of a special series of paragraphs
  17. that need to also have unique and possibly non-consecutive numbers based on the
  18. section number (e.g. TN-RGT-03-01 or UT-FT-01-aa).

  20. The goal is to be able to generate a List Of Paragraphs file that has all of
  21. these special individual paragraph numbers in it along with the section numbers
  22. (and possibly section heading text). The goal is also to have the
  23. original document in as easy to use template as possible since inexperienced
  24. or infrequent framemaker users will be using it (e.g. the use of cross
  25. references is out unless they can somehow be programmed into the template's
  26. autonumbering scheme).

  28. Assuming that only paragraph text or numbering is going to be transported
  29. through a generate of a list of paragraphs, it seems that the autonumbering of
  30. the individual paragraphs need to somehow "pull-in" the section number as a
  31. prefix. Is this possible? If not, is there some alternative way of achieving
  32. this? It would be a cinch if everything was sequentially autonumbered but they
  33. are not.

  35. If you could put user variable names into autonumber formats, that would work
  36. too but this doesn't appear possible.
