- I have a Heath H-386/16 (equivalent to the Z-386/16) that has two 1MB Zenith
- memory cards and one Boca Research "BOCARAM/AT PLUS" 8MB memory card. Works
- fine. I've never tried an all-Zenith solution, so I can't say what the
- performance differences, if any, are. Norton's SI reports a computing index
- on my machine of 17.6.
-
- I upgraded the original 8-bit VEGA VGA to a 16-bit Farenheit 1280 card when I
- got Windows 3.1. It makes the window painting faster, but overall, I agree
- with the other posters; you'd be better off getting a new, faster machine.
- Even with the Farenheit card, Windows is just plain poky; window painting is a
- small part of what it does. Windows on my Zenith 386SX/20 at home is
- noticeably faster, as is my Zenith 386SL laptop. I plan to upgrade this
- machine soon.
