- Well, I finally got around to replacing the battery pack, but now that
- it's working again, I've noticed a couple of peculiar things about the
- display:
-
- 1. It whines. Not too loud, but noticable, and probably annoying if I were
- to use it for an extended period. The volume of the noise is proportional
- to the brightness. The display quality itself is fine. Is this a normal
- characteristic of this unit?
-
- 2. The system used to boot up with the display on, now it boots up with it
- off (until the LCD/CGA key is hit). Is this a user configurable option?
- In EEPROM or by DIP switch? I did have the motherboard out in the process
- of fixing some melted wiring, but the display behavior didn't change until
- a couple of boots after it was reassembled. I don't have the manual to
- consult, of course.
-
- Any helpful information would be most appreciated.
