- Subject: New Life for my Model II?

- I'm the new owner of a really cool lookin TRS-80 Model II, with a full 64K
- of RAM, and a full-blown 8" floppy disk drive. Upon cracking open the case,
- I noticed that the system seems to use an S-100 bus system. This then led
- me to ponder the possibility of installing extra heavy duty new boards into
- the machine, thus making it run as coolly as it looks! This thing looks
- like something Spock would be staring into...
-
- So I did a bit of snooping down at the local Radio Shack, where I found a
- reference to an upgrade kit which could be used to convert the model II to a
- Model 16. ( M68K + Z80A ). Any further info, suggestions, hints, or
- whatever? I already have a clone 386, so I'm more interested in getting
- some of the weirder microprocessors running in the II.
