- Look at RAID boxes. But keep in mind that these *increase* the likelihood
- of a subsystem failure due to more components, unless you add more
- redundancy than just a parity disk as in RAID 3. You need dual power
- supplies and dual controllers.

- I have used two 1.3 GB disks from Sun on their own SCSI bus (one onboard,
- one SBus) with ODS. If you want you can do a three-way mirror the same way.
- You can even add hot spares.

- The speed loss doue to ODS is marginal I heard. RAIDs are slow in the general
- case. Some can get you good sequential performance. I have yet to see a
- RAID that is usable with a database, exactly the major application to
- *want* failure resilience. A RAID is also *much* more expensive than
- the same number of disks bought separately, plus some additional SCSI
- host adapters, plus ODS.
