- Correct. The Classic, LX, and server 2000 all require Solaris 2.1.
- They cannot run 4.1.x.

- The new machines are "binary compatible" for application programs, not
- the kernel. Sun is not going to teach the 4.1.x kernel how to run on
- the new machines. I suspect this will be true for all machines introduced
- by Sun from now on.

- If you want to buy a new Sun which runs 4.1.x, you'll have to buy one
- of the older models (IPX, IPC, 600MP, etc.). That's why those models
- will remain on the Sun price list for at least another year.
