  12. I am trying to understand the merits and demerits of master vs slave
  13. ethernet SBUS card. Originally all of the ethernet cards were built as
  14. bus masters; now Sun has come out with an ethernet/SCSI card which is a
  15. slave. Apparently, this has been done for higher performance.

  17. Does anybody have any detailed or even back of the envelope type of
  18. calculations which would show the merit/demerit of either approach?
  19. What are the reasons which would make one approach superior to another?
