  12. The serial ports (including kbd/mouse) on my 3/140 seem to have
  13. stopped working.  When I power up I get a message saying that the
  14. keyboard can't be found, and that it's using port A for input.  Also,
  15. port A doesn't seem to be working, either after the boot or during a
  16. diag mode powerup/self test.  All that I get is garbage.  I've tried
  17. reseating chips/boards/connectors to no avail.  It seems to have dies
  18. while running overnight (it's left on continuously).

  20. Another question while I'm here.  The video sync generator seems to
  21. die if the ambient temp of the room gets much over 75 F (This is a
  22. home machine and we had a few hot days last summer).  Is this common?
