  17. Occasionally, we see the following message on some of our systems:

  19. vmunix: NFS getattr failed for server XXXX: RPC: Can't decode result
  20.  
  21. What does this mean ?  server XXXX is a fileserver, and this message
  22. appears on machines which mount it's /export/home partition. Both machines
  23. involved are running SunOS 4.1.2.

  25. On a possibly related note:  Would turning on UDP checksums help ?
  26. If so, once they are turned on, are errors logged to the console ?
