- Recently I benchmarked un-accelerated NFS performance with a Sun 4XX
- series machine and got the following *approximate* numbers (just useful
- for comparison):
-
- Operation Local NFS
- --------- ----------- ---------
- Write 3300 Kb/sec 80 Kb/sec
- Read 6500 Kb/sec 6400 Kb/sec
-
- Given the same parameters (RAM, kernel config, etc), can I expect a
- Legato board to give me *significantly* higher performance than what
- naked NFS gives me? How about an Auspex? Would a raid box negatively
- affect NFS performance (reads or writes)?
-
- Thanks,
-
- Frank G.
