  12. This is a question for those of you adventurous souls that are
  13. already trying out Solaris 2.0.

  15. We have been directed to build a system with the following requirements:
  16.   Sun Sparc 2,  SYS5V4 (Solaris 2.0), Motif 1.2,...
  17. to be completed by next fall.

  19. I have many concerns about this approach, but right now I am thinking
  20. about Solaris 2.0.  Management has read the words 'compatability mode'.

  22. What is this exactly? What are its drawbacks? What about performance? 
  23. Is this a Sun equiv. of the DOS box under Windows (BSD under SYSV)?

  25. I would be very interested in any information that would either help
  26. me refute this requirement; or calm my fears that we are taking a 
  27. great technical risk with this approach.
