- I have a network with two routers on it,
- one router gives access to a company wide LAN (this uses RIP),
- the other one gives access to the Internet.
-
- On my workstations I set up the internet router as a static "default" route
- with the command 'route add default inrouter 1'.
-
- The problem is the other routers' RIP broadcasts clobber the default static
- route and proclaims itself the default route.
-
- Background info:
- company wide land router is an RS-60000 with 3 ethernet cards.
- Internet router is a Netblazer-ST
-
- I think this a problem with my sun workstations allowing it's default route
- to be overridden, because the RS-6000 never sends out a RIP packet which
- sets a default route.
-
- Any help would be appreciated,
- Brian
