  13. How does one make a standalone (not running NIS) sun running 4.1.1 
  14. use the local resolver?  I have played with this in the past.
  15. I have rebuilt the lib with the resolving libraries but the 
  16. problem then was it didnt look at /etc/hosts anymore.  
  17. What I have done to get around the problem is to get the sources 
  18. for utilities like ftp and telnet and compiling them with the -lresolv
  19. flag.  On my nexts and CDC unix boxes all I had to do was setup 
  20. /etc/resolv.conf
