  13. We are looking to buy a re-writable MO disk drive.  We have grown
  14. tired of buying large capacity disks only to watch them fill up within
  15. weeks.  Or application is mostly to have working disks for processing
  16. and analysing multi-dimensional NMR data.  Access times are important
  17. so we want the fastest, cheapest, most-reliable drive that holds at
  18. least 600 Meg per floptical.  Price is important, but capacity,
  19. performance, and capatibility are the major issues.

  21. I can call the vendors and get prices and specs, but I am interested
  22. in personal testimony from people who have used and/or installed MO
  23. drives.  I remember that Dave Olson recently remarked that the Tahiti
  24. II drives were supported at some level by SGI.  I also thought that
  25. Pinnacle was introducing a new, high-performance system and would be
  26. interested to hear any reports of these disks.
