- We are looking to buy a re-writable MO disk drive. We have grown
- tired of buying large capacity disks only to watch them fill up within
- weeks. Or application is mostly to have working disks for processing
- and analysing multi-dimensional NMR data. Access times are important
- so we want the fastest, cheapest, most-reliable drive that holds at
- least 600 Meg per floptical. Price is important, but capacity,
- performance, and capatibility are the major issues.

- I can call the vendors and get prices and specs, but I am interested
- in personal testimony from people who have used and/or installed MO
- drives. I remember that Dave Olson recently remarked that the Tahiti
- II drives were supported at some level by SGI. I also thought that
- Pinnacle was introducing a new, high-performance system and would be
- interested to hear any reports of these disks.
