  12. We got a loaner Indigo from SGI(IRIX 4.0.5f).  Everything went well 
  13. except that after
  14. I logout from the system and logging back in I cannot bring up any
  15. window.  I can bring up the clock and the rest of the stuff from the 
  16. Toolchest.  I checked the value in /etc/config/system.Gammaval and
  17. it was 2.0.  From my past experience, it was  1.7 for my PI's. I changed
  18. the value to 1.7 but that still didn't solve my problem.  (I changed the value
  19. via a dumb terminal).

  21. Also if I log in other than root, I cannot do a "w" command.  It says 
  22. "no kmem" but kmem is in /dev.  Please respond to my account here onthe net
  23. as my company is not connected to the Internet.
