- One possibility: the new 3Com LAN Security Architechture needs to know your
- machines Ethernet ID. LSA hubs (secure 10BaseT repeaters) can be programmed
- so that, for each port, if data comes from any Ethernet addr other than the
- one "registered" on that port, the port is shut down. This is to prevent
- non-registered hosts from connecting to your network.

- packets but with the data replaced by noise. This is to prevent people from
