  12. This might be an FAQ, if so I apologize in advance.

  14. I want to hook up a Macintosh to the Sgi.  The Mac uses
  15. a RS-422 interface instead of the standard RS-232 interface.
  16. I did a "man serial" and they suggest using some jargon
  17. about "stream ioctl commands"  SIOC_EXTCLK and SIOC_RS422.

  19. Does this mean that someone has to write a small program
  20. to reconfigure the ports, or is there some standard
  21. command to do this?
