- Could You please elaborate this? Does it mean that german wines are
- expensive just because Germany is in the EC? Maybe I should tell You
- that californian wines in California are more expensive than german
- wines are in Germany (this is in general of course, there may be
- exceptions).
-
- If You could get into contact with a german wine grower (I hope this is
- the right word :-), then I could imagine that he could send high quality
- german wine to You directly. I don't know how much tax and customs You
- would have to pay additionally, but these are no costs related to
- Germany being in the EC (at least if they are not penalty customs and
- even then they have US origin).
-
- Especially in this year german wine will probably becheaper than in the
- last years due to a nice summer and fall we had. There is so much wine
- that in fact some wine growers cannot afford to collect the grapes
- since the cost for it maybe higher than what they could earn with it. Of
- course the nice summer has had its impact on the quality too :-).
-
- BTW, I'm very happy to see that there are Americans who like german
- wines. When I was in California in April I examined the californian
- wines closer and liked them very much.

- Have a good time sitting in the dark, drinking german wine and listen to
- peaceful music :-).
