- Oooopppsss!
-
- These two are talking about the capability of the phone company to
- tell a PBX (like ours) the origin of the call. While our system has
- the capability of taking advantage of this capability, It's not what I
- was talking about when I said "call-id".
-
- I should have been clearer in my posting...
-
- "Call-id" at SGI means "the number you get when you log a call with
- the Technical Assistance Center. Kind of a "Case-Number" for your
- problem.
-
- Our IVR system queries you for this number when you call to check the
- status of your "Case". Any "Voice-Messages" between you and the
- Support Engineer are attached to the "Call-ID". Flags showing status
- of this "Voice-Message-Box" (the IVR box for your Call-ID) are visible
- to our engineers and call-administrators when they look at the "Call"
- in our on-line "Call-Tracking-System".
-
- There, Everyone should now be COMPLETELY confused...
-
- ;-}
-
-
- Seriously, that really is how it works, and it CAN help with the
- "telephone-Tag" problem - mostly because it allows people to leave
- detailed technical messages.
-
- We've also got other cool ideas in the works...
