Does the DAT drive supplied by SGI use the same format and tape size as other vendor's drives? Specifically HP's DAT? Are there any other problems I might encounter when trying to transfer files from an HP 9000-400 to a Indigo R4k via DAT?
I do this! It works fine from HP to Indigo. However, from Indigo
to HP, no go. I must do dd if=/dev/rmt/0m of=foo.tar bs=1024k
(for tar files anyway). And then extract the files from the
tar file.
Thanks...
