- The portion of the 1 MB of RAM above the 640 K used by DOS is configured
- as the e: drive, and is available for non-volatile storage (as long as the
- backup battery doesn't get drained). This amounts to about 382 KB. I
- keep some extra MS Works printer drivers and some DOS files that aren't on
- the ROM chip (like edlin), as well as an autoexec.bat and config.sys, on
- e: drive. This still leaves a reasonable amount of room for files. I now
- use the PCMCIA card only for bakup storage. (If I ever receive the modem
- that was supposed to come with the unit,) I understand the software for
- telecommunications and fax resides on a card as well, so this will not take up
- any of the e: drive.
