- I love it when someone says "You can't do this on the net". Since when can you
- prove a negative?

- There are at least two ways to access Compuserve through the Internet, provided you
- already have a Compuserve userid. The former chokes on file transfers, for
- some reason. I think it's the data switch Merit is using, perhaps. The latter seems
- to work fine for Kermit file transfers. Both are fine for using the built-in Compuserve
- menu interface. I have neither tried nor succeeded to get either to work with Compuserve
- Information Manager, although I suspect that using with with something like INT14 or
- tnglass would work.

- 1: telnet to hermes.merit.edu and enter "compuserve" at the "Which Host?" prompt.

- 2: telnet to hopey.telcom.arizona.edu and login as TO_CSERVE
- (make sure your terminal emulator is using 7-bit word-length)
-
- telnet hopey.telcom.arizona.edu

- %PAD-I-COM, call connected to remote DTE

-
- Hope this helps.
