  11. It seems my posting didn't make it out to comp.sys.next.sysadmin,
  12. so here's a quick repost:

  14. I have just bought a HP Gigabyte drive (HP 97549TF S2)
  15. for my cube.  It's SCSI 2, slow (17ms) and big (full height).

  17. I need to know if it has a cache and how to enable it, which
  18. formatting program is reccommended (I have used TheFormatter with
  19. good results on a Wren), and what configuration you more experienced
  20. sysadmins ;-) reccommend (I'm thinking of partitioning, builddisk
  21. scripts, etc).

  23. It will be sitting in my home machine, and may one day soon 
  24. function as a local archive server for our user group/area,
  25. either over the Net or SLIP.  So I'd like the disk to be set
  26. up for maximum speed.
