- Hi.
- It seems my posting didn't make it out to comp.sys.next.sysadmin,
- so here's a quick repost:
-
- I have just bought a HP Gigabyte drive (HP 97549TF S2)
- for my cube. It's SCSI 2, slow (17ms) and big (full height).
-
- I need to know if it has a cache and how to enable it, which
- formatting program is reccommended (I have used TheFormatter with
- good results on a Wren), and what configuration you more experienced
- sysadmins ;-) reccommend (I'm thinking of partitioning, builddisk
- scripts, etc).
-
- It will be sitting in my home machine, and may one day soon
- function as a local archive server for our user group/area,
- either over the Net or SLIP. So I'd like the disk to be set
- up for maximum speed.
-
