- I just received and viewed both of these videos and while
- watching I couldn't help but notice the similarities between the NeXT
- 3.0 video and Ross Perot's infomercials. They both have bold titles
- for each section and are specific and detailed with very little wasted time
- on la la fluff stuff. There's even a bit of sarcastic humor when Steve
- reviews the DOS architexture through Soft PC. On the other hand there
- is the Microsoft Windows NT video with a fancy Clintonian introduction
- that is so overproduced that it seems sarcastically commical as it strives
- for a serious tone. By the time I realized the introduction was over
- the video was literally over too. The viewer is drilled with images--
- sometimes speeded up--but given absolutely no details. Many people balked
- about how great NT is and how revolutionary it is and how easy to use it
- is but when it came down to "what did I actually learn about Microsoft NT",
- my answer was that I learned nothing from watching the video aside from what
- Bill Gates looks like. I guess the difference was that Steve showed us
- what NS 3.0 does and how it does it while Bill tells us what the effect
- of Windows NT will be on the industry. Too bad though cause I was interested
- in Windows NT until I saw the video. All it needed was a few young girls
- and it could of passed for a music video. At least it would be complete
- as an entertainment video for amusement instead of an embarrassing overproduced
- inimformative collage of images and interviews.

- For the record, I'm not bagging on our new president. My comments are
- regarding a poor video presentation of a product that may seriously compete
- with NeXTstep someday. So far, it doesn't look like NeXT has much to worry
- about yet. With all that said, could someone refer me to a decent educational
- source that will inform me about features of Windows NT compared to
- NeXTstep 3.0.
